Since its inception Canine University has been dedicated to providing the very best training and teaching methods to assist families in raising their dogs to be polite members of the family. We are dedicated to providing the most up to date and scientifically sound practices to help our clients succeed in achieving the dog of their dreams.
All of our classes are taught using positive reinforcement methods for both the dogs and their handlers. We sincerely believe that people and dogs learn best when they are in an environment of mutual respect and trust. Our staff of instructors and teaching assistants have extensive training in animal behavior and training. We are pros at helping you reach your goals!
We at Canine University believe that dogs are thinking and emotional beings who deserve the chance to learn what is expected of them without fear of punishment. To that end we use gentle methods to create our training plans and are mindful of being kind to both ends of the leash with AMAZING results.

Gerilyn Bielakiewicz
Gerilyn Bielakiewicz is fully involved in all things training. She is CPDT- KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed), a member of APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers) since its inception, and served briefly as Faculty at the launch of Karen Pryor Academy (for those seeking to become dog trainers). She has also authored eight books on dog training, obedience and dog tricks.
Gerilyn has trained and certified service dogs for Paws With A Cause, bestowed many a Canine Good Citizens certificate as an evaluator; has been contracted by the Department of Homeland Security, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, advertisers and media professionals seeking that perfect dog for their clients’ campaigns; and is continually sought out by court officers, non-profits and foundations seeking expert opinion.
Paul Bielakiewicz
Paul Bielakiewicz focus is on the business side of running a successful, enduring dog obedience facility. Paul has imparted good graces and social skills for our clients dogs in our dog daycare program since day one. He is the webmaster, accountant, copywriter, and picks up whatever and wherever needed. Paul is co-author of The Everything Golden Retriever Book.
